The Moon Kingdom of Carcosa, capitol city of the LoL-era High Council

The Moon Kingdom is a major world featured in the Kingdom Hearts Unlimited Saga, only appearing in full for the events of "X - The Keyblade Wars".

A lost and destroyed relic of the time of the Lands of Legend; many millennia ago, when the worlds were all just one single world orbited by a single moon and any alien worlds hosting extraterrestrial life were much less common than there are today, the High Council of Gods ruled together over the Lands of Legend and the Summer Country from their luxurious palace made from gold, ivory, and sturdy stone, situated within the heart of the capitol city of Carcosa high above the atmosphere in the Light Side of the Moon. This Kingdom of the Moon was where the Gods of all known pantheons of the time would converge together in annual meetings to discuss how best to continue watching over the people of Earth and guide them to their proper destiny; though sometimes, it was also the summer home of King Triton, Queen Athena, and their daughters, back during the time when Triton still held respect for humanity and was not afraid to come up to the surface. While the town of Daybreak in Coruscant was considered to be the capitol of the High Council's Keyblade Order, Keybearers were allowed permission by decree of Zeus and Master Yen Sid to board interstellar vessels to the moon so that they could train in the art of combat and magic in the Palace's courtyards. Indeed, it was during one of these allowed training sessions did Ariel, youngest daughter of Triton, meet face to face with the young knights Revan, Arthur, and Gwydion, sparking a friendship that would last over many lifetimes.

Unfortunately, during the Keyblade War's climactic moments, the Moon Kingdom of Carcosa was the target of a massive invasion-siege by a regiment of demon warriors led by the Horned King on behalf of the 13 Seekers of Darkness. With the Keyblade Order too busy fighting amongst themselves to properly defend their territories, Chernabog believed that he could take Carcosa for himself as the starting point for dominating the entire universe. The Kingdom was destroyed by the Horned King's forces, and most of its inhabitants slain during the ensuing chaos, though after the Christ-Blade was shattered back on the One World, the souls of the fallen keybearers and the Princess who they pledged allegiance to would be blessed with the gift of reincarnation by Queen Athena with Yen Sid's acceptance to one day be reunited together in the Modern Era so that they could be happy and free of the tyranny of Chernabog's rule.
