Zebediah Kilgrave

Zebediah Kilgrave/Kevin Thompson/The Man in Purple

Zebediah Kilgrave, otherwise known as the Purple Man or by his true name of Kevin Thompson, is a supporting antagonist in the Kingdom Hearts Unlimited Saga, first appearing for a cameo role in "An Empire of Dreams" before making his full debut in "Encoded Truths" as an ally to Jafar.

In his youth, Kevin was experimented upon by his parents, who were scientists under the employ of SHIELD, to treat his neurodegenerative disease; instead, it activated his latent Mutant gene which allowed him to emit pheromones that could control the minds of people who breathed them in and listened to his voice afterwards. Driven mad by the power that went to his head, Kevin changed his name to Zebediah Kilgrave, with a false identity as a Yugoslavian spy to hide his true nature from the authorities, and used his powers from then on for his hedonistic personal gain, no matter how badly his victims suffered for it. One of his most notable victims was Jessica Jones, who he kept around as his bodyguard and slave until she broke free of his control by sheer force of will. Angered by Jessica's betrayal, Kilgrave vowed to get her back by any means necessary, even by controlling others to do his bidding and get her close enough to his vicinity that he could stay once more by his side.

In the meantime, both Maleficent of the Hellfire Organization and Emperor Zurg of the Dominion XIII observed Kilgrave's actions closely from afar, and saw him as a valuable tool due to his mind-control abilities which they could use to either subvert the will of millions of potential Darkhearts to obey the evil faerie's commands or ensure the loyalty of all the members of the Dominion to make them more compliant with their eventual transformation into Seekers of Darkness under Chernabog's control, respectively. However, Kilgrave kept refusing the messengers' invitations time and time again due to sheer boredom with the villainous organizations' world-domination plans and not willing to care about the greater conflicts going on throughout the universe, preferring to stick to the shadows and obsessing over Jessica Jones, much to Maleficent and Zurg's mutual disappointment. That would change however when Jessica finally had enough of Kevin's stalking, and tried to have him arrested for his crimes, forcing the now furious Purple Man to make a deal with the evil vizier Jafar during the conflict of the Datascape to enhance his powers so as to finally be able to kill Jessica, and join the Hellfire Organization now under the leadership of Queen Regina following Maleficent's death as part of the Wicked Lady fusion.
